Perfect!

Do you begin to think we spend a lot of time in bookstores? We do. Another Vivian bookstore story:

Vivian seized upon one of those gift books -- the ones about the size of a deck of playing cards -- from a revolving rack by the cash. It was about teachers, and had a little wooden apple attached to its ribbon bookmark. This, and its size, pleased her, and she hauled that little book around for at least half an hour. "Apple, apple, apple!"

And when she decided she was done with it, she head back across to the store -- all the way, a five minute walk for her, at least -- to that rack, and put the book back in the appropriate slot. "Vivian!" I exclaimed. "That's perfect."

She tilted her head back, gave me a "but of course," smile, and declared herself "pwur-fect."
