More misc magazine bits

Well, I did do some of the freelance work that pays in between fits of lying down. But in between the in betweens worked on those submissions I wanted to do. Fossicking through my folder of unpublished stuff turned up eleven ready-ish poems, so I broke them into three submissions instead of two. I was optimistic or foolhardy or brave and decided to try some of the American journals I admire, though I don't know them quite well enough to place poems in them at the rate I manage with Canadian journals. But, anyway, sent poems to Beloit Poetry Journal, Painted Bride, and jubilat. We shall see.

The whole business took perhaps four hours. Honestly, resumes are easier. I don't know what it is about submissions that takes so much time, energy, and heart.

I now have nine submissions out there -- including one from that batch in February -- and so can continue stalking the mail carrier well into the fall. Such a pleasant hobby. Like bird watching.

Those all sound like terrific choices (plus they're beautiful magazines, too)! Huzzahs for mail carrier stalkage! Perhaps we should start posting digital pics of our mail carriers coming down our walks? Hee.

My whole front garden project is just an elaborate blind for better letter carrier stalking. I lie in wait, I do.

But they must be on to me... no mail at all today, not even junk! Second time this week!
