Untitled Moses Poem

....
Curled in a hand of earth and covered
by something like a wing,
Moses felt the heart within him
like the Red Sea split
and trembling, and in that moment,
oddly, he remembered Miriam, her face
lifting even as the basket reeds
grew damp .....
