This week I got

An acceptance of haiku from tinywords. A go ahead on a children's science article from one of the Cobblestone mags -- would be a good market to crack. A personal rejection (as opposed to a generic note) from the New Yorker. And an encouraging note from a very fine agent who wants to see Plain Kate when it's done. Tomorrow to Book Expo in Toronto to schoomze till my feet hurt.

Every once in a while I think this writing for a living thing might just work out....

yay! sounds like a fabulous week. All I got is to transplant some thyme which had sprouted too close together so 3/4 of it died. Glad things are working out much better for you :)

All god things! I'd love to hear what the New Yorker had to say. Was it for a poem?

Whoops--good things, I meant to say.

I certainly believe it will work out for you.

Yes, for a poem. "Leah Names Her Sons" and "Proverbs 30" had a close brush with New Yorker publication.

Mary, won't you tell me Mary who?
