Judge's cite

Here's the judges citation from the Pat Lowther shortlist I mentioned yesterday. It just came from the press people.

In Erin Notebooms Ghost Maps: Poems For Carl Hruska, the life of a WWII veteran is movingly rendered in a sequence of spare, vivid poems. Crossing boundaries between genres, Noteboom employs dialogue and smooth shifts in perspective to create a fictionalized biography in verse. With echoing imagery and endings both understated and reaching, Ghost Maps unfolds with unerring grace.

Oooo, I like "unerring grace." Still working on my owl imitation. Now sort of molting and flapping about in a waddling way. Hoot, hoot!

Way to go, Erin. Guess you've set the bar quite high for your next collection. :)

Oo, don't put it like that. Yikes.

Congratulations on the nomination Erin. Good luck with it all (although I suspect it's all out of your hands at this point!) I'll definitely be dropping by and reading with interest.
