Inspired by a search string.... I'm about one step away from google poeming, god help me.

This is the latest of a bunch of fragments. Try "fragment: two in one," "fragment: scholarship," "fragment: family crafts" and my personal favourite, "fragment: close"

    fragment: close

    leaving, my father
    holds me
    like a newspaper
I can't get far enough away
    to see you

Some
of these I really like, though I'm not sure they're actually poems. Hence the hedge, "fragment."

Oh, this is brilliant, love!

I once had a notebook with many fragments, and my creative writing instructor noticed a theme and suggested I try putting them together. The result was "New Zealand", which you may or may not remember. I think that went well. It's worth saving the fragments. They're like seeds, maybe they'll grow individually like a flower, or in a group like grass, or even be fascinating in and of itself, like a lima bean.
