Sky Lies

The thunder booms, the thunder booms --
It’s goblins rising from their tombs!
You've heard it’s angels bowling?
Well isn’t that a silly lie!
Their bowling balls would plummet
through the big empty sky.

A lightning crash, a lightning crash --
the clouds have a bad case of gas.
They are lighting farts on fire
and putting out the flames with rain.
Angels moving furniture?
Another lie, for shame, for shame!

The clouds are sky-whale castles
woven out of steam
The wind is dragon’s breath
the rainbow’s water’s dream
That storm’s a wild hippo
escaped from heaven’s zoo --
What -- why are you smiling?
Why would I lie to you?

Again I say watch out dennis Lee. This stuff is delightful; I'm sure kids will enjoy it. Send it to Dennis Lee's publisher.

I get the impression, which may be totally wrong, that you are "nesting." When women are pregnant, they get into this mode of cleaning and preparing the nest for the new arrival. It sounds to me like you are preparing your mind to have children around. Is this a crazy idea?
