Every year it amazes me, how fast it happens. One warm week and suddenly, leaves. In the front yard, sugar maple acid yellow, crabapple mahagony. In the herb garden mint already hatching plans. Down by Strum creek, bloodroot and marsh marigold. In Monarch Woods a few early trillium, plain-jane trout lily poking up through the leaf litter. Star magnolia down by the Lutheran Synod headquarters looks like an argument for the glory of God.

It is kind of amazing isn't it! The Forsythia are really pretty this year and our lilac has leaves already. Too bad though about the mosquitoes and West Nile. Strum Creek is a breeding ground!
Magnolias... glory of God. Love it!
