Shell Silverstein Poems PSA

To the five or six people a day who drop in here looking for “Shell Sliverstein poems”: you’re spelling his name wrong; there is only one l in “Shel.” I made the same mistake, once, which is why you’ve ended up here. There is some kids’ poetry here, including the ever popular “Monster Lullaby,” and the picturebook poem Sir Gawaine and the Green Knight — but not a lot.

If you’re set on Shel Silverstein, his official website is www.shelsilverstein.com. You might try here, or here for more information about him. And have you checked out Dennis Lee? Learn the words and tune to “Alligator Pie,” to get you through ice storms in April.

(Do note that Dennis Lee writes all sorts of poetry, including erotic stuff I wouldn’t give to kids. But then again, Silverstein wrote for Playboy.)
